I also carry out bespoke one-off work if you want something more specific have a design/idea, company logo or personal inscription you would like to have, making your choice of gift even more personal and special. All our products are hand crafted in England by me using locally sourced hardwoods from Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire where possible. Each item is lovingly crafted, the wood handpicked for its natural beauty colour and textures to enhance your gift in the home or workplace. I do not mass produce items or buy in half made items from abroad that just need to be finished off. Any wording or design on my products are engraved into the timber (not burnt or laser printed) this means your new purchase is aesthetically pleasing and should last for years to come if looked after correctly.

Hi I’m David, I’m the founder, CEO, accountant, office manager, sales manager, works manager, tea boy and most importantly hands on (and only) operative behind mychoppingboards.co.uk. Yes if you hadn’t guessed I’m a one man band there’s no big team just me.
I started making chopping boards and tea light holders back in 2015 as part of a fundraising initiative to send my son to Kandersteg International Scout Camp site in Switzerland with our local scout group which I/we have always had an active role in. The boards I first made seemed to go down with the public quite well. Once the funds had reached its target, I kept making the odd one or two boards for friends, family and old works mates.
I’ve always had a love for messing with timber even as a kid making trolley’s, skateboards (out of my sister’s old skates), bird boxes and various other little projects. Having initially trained as a carpenter after leaving school, working my way up the ladder of a local building company and then in social housing as an inspector then manager I still had the urge to create wooden items, from buying a lathe producing many a mushroom and bowl, to dolls houses for my niece, wooden puzzles, swords and shields for my lad in his youth (and most of the kids in the street) to my biggest challenge rocking horses.
I’ve now made the decision to take the challenge and set myself up as a small independent manufacturer of hardwood timber gifts, including bespoke one-off items. All the things on the website are made by me in my little workshop in the heart of the Black Country (that’s in the Midlands near to Birmingham NOT in Birmingham). As new items are created they will be added to the website, so if there is something specific that you require or are interested in get in contact and we’ll see what I can do to help you out.
There is something quite special about working with timber, the tradition, the feel, the smell, the unique colours and patterns of differing varieties of wood, all combining to make a one-off unique piece for every client.
Our aims and ethos is fairly straight forward, I want to provide all of my customers with handmade affordable, distinctive, natural wood products made in England, made with locally sourced timber where possible, some being bespoke to your personal requirements that you, your family and friends will enjoy and should last for years to come.
